Terrorism

I was watching “The Attacks of 26/11”, a movie based on the 2008 Mumbai Attacks. You must are aware of the terrorist activity in Mumbai when, as the Wikipedia says, “twelve coordinated shooting and bombing terrorist attacks lasting four days across Mumbai.” The terrorists were at the Taj Mahal Palace, one of the best reputed hotels in India. Also, some places like Hotel Oberoi Trident, Leopold cafĂ©, Cama Hospital, Nariman House, Metro Cinema, St. Xavier’s College CST (Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus) which happens to be one of the most crowded railway stations of India. There were blasts at Mazagaon, a place at the Mumbai Port area and in a taxi in Vile Parle.

I was shocked to see the monstrosity of the acts and the loathsomeness of the attackers for not only for the government but also for the common people of this country. The movie also showed that a baby and an animal also were killed.

My heart aches a lot when I get to know about these kinds of activity. Watching the film, I could empathize with the people who were stuck at places with the terrorist, who got wounded and killed. My heart goes out for the families of the victims, the police officers and constables who were killed in the fight. Any kind of terrorist activity is solely condemnable. The whole world is suffering because of this.

A little learning and education can change the scenario. If everyone is taught to love their country along with others’ country, terrorist activities could be restrained to a large extent.

Ajmal Kasab, the only attacker caught alive, was hanged till death by the order of the Supreme Court of India, on 21 November, 2012.

  1. I remember the attack and just left Mumbai, one year earlier. It hurts the most since the attack took place in areas I was a regular almost everyday, be it CST, Colaba and Leopold. My heart tanked on how the city was taken to hostage for three days and it still makes me angry how the security in India fails and has become so vulnerable to attacks. My heart still goes for the victims and cops who sacrificed their lives for the country.

  2. if i could interject. it's not ...if one could learn to love their country more...it's if one could learn to love 'life' more. 'terrorists' motivations are based on their love of ideological, religious or nationalistic interests over life itself. Ah, to be young again.

have a good day my friend
